A MESSAGE FROM THE COMOX RECREATION COMMISSION

On behalf of the Comox Recreation Commission, let me invite you to take advantage of the many programs and activities being offered. Our keen staff are dedicated to serving your best recreational and cultural interests and believe that those needs can be fulfilled at the Comox Community Centre, and other venues where our programs and activities are held.

You may not be aware that the Comox Recreation Commission operates the Comox Community Centre and other recreational facilities within the Town of Comox, under a management contract with the Town. This arrangement was made in September 1999 and has proven to be worthwhile for both the Town and the Commission. With our access to bingo and other gaming revenues, we are able to purchase new and replacement equipment (eg; our 4 new WAVE sail boats) that makes our programs and activities very much in demand.

We have an excellent group of individuals serving on our Board. Their names are listed above. If you have questions or concerns regarding recreation in the Town, please feel free to contact any one of the Board members or David Durrant, our Director of Recreation, for the past 24 years.

Yours in recreation and culture,
the Comox Recreation Commission
